Collaboration with Melissa Moore!! :)

So... how did that happen! Well, as I mentioned in my previous post I was hat Hilary's on Sunday to bring him the drawings. Melissa was there too so was Hilary's little boy. Such a cutie! :)
Anyhow... she sent me an e-mail yesterday evening asking if I was interested to help her with some drawings/paintings and if I would have time to come around to her studio to have a look. Oh boy, you can bet I was interested! :D
I went there today to have a look at her project and it was really cool. She did lots of paintings with gouache and they look amazing. She did a painting for every letter of the alphabet, for example A for Austria and depicted the typical horse race and other caracteristics of the chosen country. There are 4 more to do plus a little story board which is more or less a preface to the paintings as it should become a childrens book in the end. I'll work on the storyboard and possibly help with details on the drawings later. I'm really excited about it!! :)
Such a shame that I can't show you pictures from her paintings... maybe later and I'll keep you up to date how the storyboard goes!

Check back soon this is to be continued! :)

Some more drawings and I opened an online shop :)

Hi everyone, I recovered from the 1st shock of getting an offer and was hustling to get some more work done. I met HKS on Saturday to show him the maya panel drawing, he really loved it. There and then he asked me if I could do 4 more for his film. I was really happy and was drawing like crazy to get it all done until yesterday 6pm. The result was good and he was very pleased with the outcome :) I attached the pictures below.

The other good news is that I opened an online store where you can buy prints of my drawings. I have a limited amount of space there at the moment so if you see something in my portfolio that you would be interested in drop me a mail :)

Graciously yours!
xx

I got a place at UWE Bristol

Can you imagine that?? I just didn't expect that to happen anymore and now I don't quite know what to do. I mean... yes I had fallen out with London at the beginning of the year, I was just too stressed and all. At this point I was so ready to leave this city and now... I'm quite sad thinking that I might have to leave everything behind :((
Isn't that crazy, first I work my ass of to get IN somewhere and then this.... also I haven't seen much of Bristol at all as I was there for the interview. I really need to go back and have a sightseeing tour :) The uni looked really good and is in a nice location too.
My offer is conditional, I need to do an IELTS test with a score of 6 or above and they wanna see my foundation diploma of course! All that can be done.... but I also would need to find a room and a job to fit around my studies which I think might be the biggest problem. I'm panicking!!!! :-O

Let's face it!

I did a few very quick sketches of some of my friends Facebook profile pictures. The result can be seen below, some went better than others. It is interesting to see which pictures are chosen to "sell" a certain image. Also I realised that guys often use pictures showing them a bit in profile, looking (very) serious whereas girls are captured more often straight on and smiling :)
What can your facial expressions say about you? Our ability to speak without saying a word but using just our face is often underestimated. Next time when you have a conversation try not to listen to the words but concentrate only on what you can see on the other persons face. Or try it on the tube or the bus, try to read other peoples faces. Have fun! :)

Headism exhibition

Looks pretty cool so I figured you gotta know. I'll surly pop by and have a look at all these heads :) It is the début exhibition by Philip Levine featuring photography, sculpture and documentary video displaying the best of his iconic head designs.
