Hello,
It's been a few days already since I posted stuff so it's time to give you an update!
I spent the day in the screen print studio today printing my bear... my spooky bear :D hehe
Because it's not much time until Christmas anymore and I have to speed up a bit with my working pace! These days have been so grey and rainy that I just wanted to sleep... anyhow here comes the BEAR grrrrrr ;op

Amended sketch for my pastiche
Hello :)
The deadline was rushing up for the pastiche and because I was looking and reading about my chosen artist Utagawa Hiroshige I realised that he used the vertical format much more for his work especially in the last decades of his life. So naturally I changed my image from horizontal to vertical in order to fit it better to his style.
The last two days I tried without luck to print my final piece via the lithography print technique thought the person was sick and therefore I was stranded and could not do anything really. After a chat to my tutor we agreed that I'll colour it in Photoshop so that people will get an idea of how it will look like.
So the last hours I spent colouring my drawing and copying and pasting and so on. Below you can see now the sketch and the coloured drawing. It's not yet finished but to be honest I'll go to bed now and finish tomorrow :D
I hope you like it!
Check back to see the finished piece and hopefully next week the litho print!

Final sketch for my pastiche on Utagawa Hiroshige
Hello!
Finally I finished the sketch for my final piece today. I tried to draw a British landscape in Hiroshige's Japanese style. Wasn't quite easy but I guess it's not supposed to be as I wouldn't learn anything otherwise. I do enjoy the process a lot and on Monday I'm in the litho department the whole day to print my final piece. I'm already super excited about it as I'll produce one litho plate per colour and I hope it'll work out as I hope it does!!

Preparation for my pastiche on Hiroshige
Hello!
So since the deadline for my pastiche comes closer and closer I did some preparatory drawing and painting. Also I did 1 etching and 4 woodblocks in order to try the traditional japanese technique of woodblock print which means that I had to do one block for each colour. I did not do the actual print yet but will do that the next days :)
I hope you enjoy the images and thanks for looking!

The making of Demeter
I have to say so far I quite like it but I still have a long way to go until the final draft. Sorry for the bad quality, it's because I work in layers and it gets a bit blurry the more there are :)
For all of you who might not be so familiar with Greek Mythology, Demeter is the goddess of agriculture hence the wheat and all the other details you might associate with growth, fields and summer :)
Even though it's just a sketch (my sketches mostly look quite neat) I think it would only lack a few more details if I wanted to finish it just like that.... I'm tempted. I might just quickly colour it on the PC once I traced the whole composition for a colour check :)
